Hypertext Theory
The core of hypertext and the Web can be summed up in one word: freedom. Freedom for
authors, for readers,
for texts, freedom for the argument, and even freedom for the technology (the relationship among each of these elements relates to Burke's concept of container and the thing contained). There are some exceptions to the freedom of hypertext on the World Wide Web. However, together with
my conception of privileging as the core of postmodern theory, freedom in hypertext--and particularly on the Web--are the theoretical legs on which my discussion stands.
