Freedom and Hypertext

The idea of freedom in hypertext may seem to relate more to political issues of communication: with hypertext on the Web, people's ideas are available to millions of others relatively inexpensively.allowing the dissemination of ideas of individuals who would otherwise not have the ability to present information to such a large potential audience.

It's true that the Web offers more political freedom, but political freedom is not what I'm interested in. When I say "freedom," I mean the vast amounts of information and the ease in which it can be accessed. I also mean that authors and readers have the freedom to pursue information as they desire, rather than having to adhere to a linear structure and the physical boundaries of print.
