Argumentation on the World Wide Web

This work examines how argumentation in hypertext alters author, reader, and text. Because the dynamic of author/reader/text changes in hypertext, making an argument in this medium also changes. The idea that the author is solely responsible for making the argument in hypertext does not take into account readers' ability to easily access multiple texts by multiple authors. Readers take on increased responsibility for making sense of what they read.
