Equal Ground

Beverly Sauer's model, as with the Bartons' advocacy of the use of the panoptic modes, is an attempt to put information on more equal ground. When Sauer notes that the Wilberg Mine accident reports are not useful in preventing future accidents, the reason they aren't is because those reports tend to privilege information more than does her three-dimensional model.

The concept of information on equal ground translates into a practical strategy for authors in deciding what to include in an argument. Obviously, it would be impossible to include all points of view, but on the Web, an author can link to as many different documents as are available.
