Typically when we talk about "text" we mean words. But since the advent of electronic communication and the ease of combining visuals, sound, and motion, the definition of text needs to be expanded. Aren't graphics, sound, and motion also compelling means of communicating? And what does that say for argument? If we look at text as the entity through which arguments are made, then we certainly can't exclude multimedia as an effective means of persuasion. Further, multimedia might offer those not comfortable communicating with language the opportunity to argue more successfully.
